I was almost 60, felt overweight and unfit with minor health concerns. I made an appointment with Robin and that began my journey. I have gained fitness, strength, energy and confidence to live a full life through my senior years. I never imagined I would be in this place at 65. I feel I have greater power over the health of my body and autonomy over my own life.
I started at SBS because I was looking for help with nutrition and exercise, and thought a smaller group setting would be worth a try. The accountability and support from the coaches and other members have kept me coming back! I get a good and fast workout in an hour and always feel better at the end of it.
I wanted to gain strength for work as a paramedic and knew that a public gym couldn't provide the accountability that would help me stick with it. So I sought out SBS and have been going strong ever since! My partners have commented, 'Wow, it feels like I'm not doing anything!' And that made me feel good, because my goal was to be able to safely lift the stretcher and patients.
